Test Tracks

Our main club test track has 5 OO gauge tracks and one P4 gauge track. It is set up at least once a month, and many members bring stock to run on it. We also have an N Gauge test track (front of picture) which is out most weeks. We are currently building an O gauge test track.

There is a 3 foot long multi-gauge track permanently set up in the club room to test locos and check they run smoothly. In addition we have rolling roads for most gauges for running in locos.

New 0 Gauge Running Track

The new 0 gauge running track is being built to 0 gauge fine scale standards, i.e. compatible with commercial 0 gauge track. It will be about 27 feet by 13 feet and have a minimum radius of 6 feet, giving the opportunity to run most stock. It will be equipped to provide either DC or DCC control (or one track on each).

This photos shows four of the group members after a few boards had been completed and were set up on the floor to check mechanical and electrical connections. When completed the running track will be mounted on trestles.
