Membership

The club has over 65 members consisting of full members, junior members and associate members. The membership year runs from 1 November, if you join part way through a year you will be charged a proportional rate for the remaining part of that year. Membership includes use of the club rooms, paying for materials for club layouts being built and the regular club newsletter. “Honesty box” tea, coffee, and biscuits are always available. You are welcome to attend several times to try the club out before we start demanding money!

Full Membership (£80 per year). Open to those aged 18 and over, permits regular attendance of the club, involvement with all the club layouts, use of the facilities and voting rights on club activity. This allows modellers to gain access to the skills and advice from others within the club to grow their knowledge and capabilities.

Reduced fees for certain Full Members may be agreed on a case by case basis by the General Purposes Committee. Examples of such concessions would include: the levy of the junior fee for Members aged over 18 but in full-time education; and a reduced rate for a Member unable to benefit from a proportion of the Club’s facilities.

Junior Membership (£25 per year, non-voting). Available for young enthusiasts between 12 – 18 years of age and to anyone in full time education. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 14 at all times. Once a Junior Member achieves their 14th birthday, and if it is agreed by both the Club’s Executive Officers and the parents/guardians of the Junior Member, they may attend meetings and other Club events unaccompanied, on receipt of a signed permission form which is kept on record. We encourage juniors to join us to enjoy the world of railway modelling.

Associate Membership (£25 per year,  non-voting) is available at the discretion of the Committee, for example to former Members who now visit the Club infrequently.
